About Albanian Riviera

The Albanian Riviera stretches 152 km along the Ionian Sea from Llogara Pass to the Greek border at Ksamil, offering some of the Mediterranean's most affordable and least crowded coastline. Unlike its Greek and Croatian neighbours, much of the shoreline remains undeveloped — hidden coves accessible only by boat, villages clinging to limestone cliffs, and beaches with water clarity rivalling the Caribbean. Ksamil anchors the southern end with three offshore islands reachable by a short swim, while Dhermi, Himara, and Gjipe Beach draw travellers looking for dramatic scenery without the crowds. The Llogara Pass (1 027 m) separates the coast from the interior and doubles as a paragliding launch point with panoramic Ionian views. Water temperatures peak at 26 °C in August, and the swim season runs from May through October. The Riviera combines well with inland UNESCO towns like Gjirokastra and Berat, both within a 2-hour drive.
